Where to find the Help Desk?

  1. On any dA page, go to the very bottom and click "Help & FAQ" (which looks like this).
  2. To the left, click "Contact the Help Desk" (which looks like this).
And that's it! There are more but this is the simplest way and it works from just about any dA page*.

Some tips

Reporting deviations;
  • To report someone for submitting art theft, hate art etc. do NOT go here - instead click 'report deviation' on the deviation (unless you're the copyright owner).
  • Need to report an entire gallery, all for the exact same thing? Report one deviation, and mention in the report that the same applies to the entire gallery.
Response speed;
  • Before sending a ticket, check the status page for known bugs, reasons to expect delay (like holidays) and other relevant topics.
  • It can be worth going to the #help chatroom to see if there is a helper present - they can give direct help with some (not all) questions.
  • It should normally take no more than a few office days to get response. Some types of violation reports can take longer.
  • Adding more info later? Don't make a new report - go to the existing one and add a comment.
Worried?
  • Need help writing your report or dealing with the situation? The official #communityops group has many guides that may help you.
  • Remember you'll always get response from a human being.
  • This also means you don't have to worry if you were falsely reported; no action will be taken against you if you didn't break the rules.
Other contact;
  • If for any reason you cannot contact the Help Desk from that page, you can email them instead;
    • For policy related matters, email violations@deviantart.com.
    • For any other help requests, email help@deviantart.com.
  • People who don't speak English can speak their own language and the Help Desk staff will use a translator to help them.
  • Need to contact dA staff for another reason than customer support? See the general contact page.

* The exceptions are within a chatroom, and on the front page at endless scrolling. You can always still find it in the main (un)sticky menu.

Recent updates: Updated some info to reflect changes, added info and links for speakers of other languages, modified the layout and phrasing too :)

Note: this is unofficial. I didn't create this as staff member (and I didn't have them look at it either) - it's simply some tips from one community member to another. It is purely based on my own experiences and all that I've read and experienced here in the past 4 years :) I see related questions frequently when I'm helping people in the #help chatroom, so I thought I'd put this together for anyone that needs it. :highfive:

I tried to keep it simple and also concise - please leave a comment if anything's unclear :hug:

(I'm sure there's some people out there with bad experiences or other dissatisfactions with the Help Desk - sorry, I'm not the person you need to yell at. ;P)

The awesome preview image was made by `admx (I modified it to give it a white background as it doesn't seem to deal well with transparent previews) - get a commission from him too! He was even so kind to have me donate the payment towards `RipfangDragon's help request, how kind is that. :eager:

Tutorial by ^namenotrequired but all information is common property really, you're invited to use and spread it anywhere (as long as you don't pretend it's official, that is :D)

Thanks to groups shown to the right hand side for submitting this to their gallery :aww:

Hello, Thank you for this!

But i have a question, i contacted the Help Desk recently and everything went fine.
But when i replied to a comment i accidently clicked on "solved", and now i am worried that they don't see this message anymore because it was important. Do the Admins still see this message even if the Request is solved?
Can they still reply to me?
Also.. how can i unsolve my request??
I couldnt find any Information and id be glad to know.

Thanks!

You're welcome :)

I cannot be sure that they'll see it still or that they'll respond if it's marked 'solved' but as far as I know you should be able to simply add another comment (without marking it as solved this time) to say that you did so by accident.

I hope that helps. :D

For Response Speed:
"Adding more info later? Don't make a new report - go to the existing one and add a comment."

How do you mean~? A normal comment to the deviation~? But in that case what if we want to be anonymous like most of the people~ Or was it another place to comment~? ^^
