A christian I was born and raised
but life taught me to change.
From the good and bad I faced
A Buddhist I became.
Telling good from evil
ain't the pattern of my life,
now I have seen what we will
accomplish with white lies.

A Buddhist I became.
I now spend my whole life reaching
for what I will never be,
but I live for learning & teaching,
for the journey to a dream.
And all their trying, all their preaching
will not stop me being me.

Dear Unborn Child, Whom I Let Go;
When I was thirteen and four months old, and you were thirteen years younger, I decided to let you go. You squirmed in opposition beneath my ribcage, up against my pelvis, and I licked my lips and tried to smile while I leaned my forehead on the cool glass of the car, hellbound.
I remember sea weed insertion, dilation, cramps and bleeding. Orange smoothies from Dairy Queen that I threw up, and I hoped you were mingling in the remains of my summer day treat, so I could put this behind me. Pretend I was 'moving on'. I laid in the bathtub of a hotel room for six hours, trying to melt you away in scalding water

Still, so hungry I bit and bat at the terrified rabbits, snapping a neck,
and so I began to eat a dear old friend of mine, none the wiser, poor Julia.
On the eve of our downfall, the cities stopped their incessant buzzing,
Rockets froze in the air, vapour and fire became a beautiful thing.
Some tired, bored creator, caught in a moment of whimsy,
Shifted our souls from one thing to the next, a wonderful game it must have been.
As a grasshopper, I perched on a tear in a paper door, playing my n

I told him what I believed would be the best way to live, which - summarised - goes something like this: to find an impossible goal to accomplish and to spend the rest of your life trying to make it happen, and most importantly, enjoying the journey to the goal.
He immediately replied by telling me it seems a very buddhistic way of thinking. I was raised a christian though, and I'm not actually Buddhistic as such, it's just the way of thinking that seems to be similar to Buddha's
